Wildlife tracking evaluations in North America are administered under CyberTracker Conservation and were originally developed by Louis Liebenberg.  As wildlife trackers become more involved in monitoring and research, their skills will be further questioned. Thus ten years ago Louis Liebenberg created the Tracker Evaluation System in South Africa through Cybertracker Conservation to test and certify competent trackers so that they may be employed in research, ecotourism, anti-poaching and other jobs. CyberTracker Tracker Evaluations are now available in North America, and with evaluations, we hope a means for competent trackers to prove credibility and gain employment in the application of tracking skills. Tracker evaluations are also an efficient form of education and excellent means to test observer reliability.

Track and Sign Evaluations can be completed in 2 field days with a maximum of 10 people. We as evaluators charge 1 of 3 flat rate prices. We define distant as requiring a flight, and local as within driving distance:

Single evaluator, distant event: If we must travel by plane the cost is $ 2,250. This cost is all-inclusive (rental cars, planes, 2 travel days, scouting for the program a minimum of 1 day, lodging, and food, costs of certificates, patches etc.).
Single evaluator, local event: $1, 500.
Two evaluators: Add $800 to the above costs. By far the most effective program is team led by two evaluators, each contributing distinctive teaching styles and different strengths and weaknesses. We as evaluators offer this option at such a reduced rate because we too benefit from the interaction with each other and it strengthens the overall CyberTracker programs tremendously.
Many organizations book back-to-back evaluations to save money. In this case, the first evaluation would be charged either as a “distant event” or “local” event, depending upon travel arrangements, and then any additional evaluations would be priced at the local rate.
Please understand that a host organization may then add to the price to cover their administrative costs and sometimes extras, like food. Thus the price of a Track and Sign evaluation is subject to fluctuation dependent upon venue and host.
In summary, here are the costs:

Local evaluation single evaluator: $1500
Local evaluation with 2nd evaluator: $1500 + 800 = $2300
Distant evaluation, single evaluator: $2250
Distant evaluation with 2nd evaluator: $2250 + 800 = $3050
If distant evaluations are back to back, addition evaluations each $1500 or $2300 (2 evaluators.)

Please understand that a host organization then adds to the price to cover their administrative costs and sometimes extras, like food. Thus the price of an evaluation is subject to fluctuation dependent upon venue and host.
